InterContinental Singapore, Heritage with class.

InterContinental Singapore is a multiple award-winning luxury hotel in the cultural district of Bugis. Minutes away from Marina Bay and a few train stops away from the famous shopping district Orchard Road, it's a perfect location to start exploring Singapore with MRT just steps away. With a deep Peranakan heritage embedded in the design of the hotel with a touch of modern element, almost every corner of the hotel is instagram worthy!

The Staycation

We have a one night stay in their Executive Suite, and what an experience it is! To our pleasant surprise, we get a complimentary two-way limousine transfers to any destinations in Singapore! This service is applicable to any guests staying at their Executive, Royal, Ambassador and Presidential Suites, very thoughtful!

We arrived at the Hotel in our shiny Merc.

Once arrived, we are greeted by their friendly hotel staff and guided straight to our suite, no waiting at the counter for any check-in process, everything done at our suite! And the Executive Suite is really beautiful, clean and spacious. No surprise that it comes with its own living room, bedroom and two bathrooms! The Peranakan theme continues throughout the interior of the suite too, very classy.

A classy bedroom!

Wonder why is there a smartphone in our room?

The Club InterContinental Experience

All Club InterContinental Rooms and Suites guests get to enjoy the exclusive Club InterContinental experience. There is a host of complimentary bespoke services and privileges, from professional secretarial services, private boardroom to a guided two-hour heritage walking trail in the Bugis heritage precinct. Entrance to the private Club InterContinental Lounge

What we really like is the access to their private Club InterContinental Lounge, we really make full use of it during our stay here!

Peranakan style continue in the Lounge.
Peranakan style everywhere! Very nice!

First, we experience the afternoon tea that starts from 2:30pm to 5:00pm. We get unlimited food, tea and coffee throughout the session!

After that comes the evening cocktails hour that starts from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. There is a wide selection of cocktails and drinks for us to choose from, and canapés too! We have to skip dinner after these.

For breakfast, we have a choice of dining at the hotel's very own Ash & Elm or Club InterContinental Lounge. We were told Ash & Elm serves breakfast buffet for all hotel guests while we can order items off the menu at the Club InterContinental Lounge for Club guests only. Needless to say we choose the Lounge!

And again, the food is really good.

This is really good!

The Instagram Worthy shots

Having walked through the hotel lobby, I notice how beautiful the design is. But as the lobby is pretty busy during the day, I decided to wake up early in the morning to grab a few shots of the unique interior. Waking up at 6:30am is definitely worth it!

The Verdict

InterContinental Singapore is one of the few hotels that exceeded my expectations, from the heritage-inspired design of the hotel to the first-class services provided by all level of staff during our stay. For the price of the suites, I'm quite confident to say this is the best value-for-money 5-stars hotel in Singapore. From the excellent location to the level of services and privileges, you are definitely getting more for what you paid for!
